The Airdrive Rotor is machined from Zaion V, a lightweight and torsion-resistant material that starts spinning with minimal rotational resistance, giving you greater sensitivity and a better feel for your lure. The centre of gravity is shifted towards the rear of the reel, which improves overall balance - an advantage you'll appreciate on long sessions. The Tough Digigear system combines high retrieve power with a silky-smooth action and sits securely within a torsion-resistant body made from Zaion V. This gearing is built to last and delivers excellent longevity under hard use. The Airdrive Bail saves further weight and, together with the redesigned bail arm, significantly reduces line tangles - the risk of the line wrapping around the bail arm and knotting is greatly reduced.

A Smooth Drag and More

The Daiwa 23 Legalis LT features the ATD Type-L drag system, which has an exceptionally low start-up resistance and releases line smoothly and consistently without any jerking. That makes it particularly well suited to fishing with light lines when a hard-fighting predator takes the lure. The line is wound via the Twistbuster III line roller, whose special construction prevents braid from being flattened onto the spool, significantly reducing line twist. The result is a line that lasts longer and casts better and further. Long casts are also aided by the Longcast ABS spool, a forged aluminium spool with an optimised lip that reduces friction and delivers greater casting distance. The Daiwa 23 Legalis LT is a fixed spool reel equally at home targeting perch, trout, zander, pike and many other predators, and it combines all of this with an outstanding price-to-performance ratio.

Technologies at a Glance:

AIRDRIVE Design - a reel front-rotor design that improves balance, rotation and line management while ensuring a smooth action with low start-up resistance.

ZAION V AIRDRIVE Rotor - a particularly lightweight rotor built from ZAION V material, delivering exceptionally low start-up resistance.

ZAION V Body - reel body constructed from lightweight and torsion-resistant ZAION V material.

TOUGH DIGIGEAR System - an especially strong and long-lasting gear system with excellent power transfer.

ATD Type-L Drag System - drag with low start-up resistance and a very smooth, consistent line release.

Forged ABS Aluminium Longcast Spool - spool with a very thick core that widens towards the lip, reducing the risk of line slip and increasing casting distance.

Cross Wrap Line Lay - precise line lay that reduces the risk of tangles and increases casting distance.

AIRDRIVE Bail - redesigned bail arm that reduces line tangles.

Twist Buster III Line Roller - a purpose-built construction that prevents the line from being flattened during winding, reducing line twist.

Machine-Cut Screw-In Handle - handle is screwed in securely.

Model Overview:

Model

Weight

Gear Ratio

Line Capacity

Line Retrieve

Drag Strength

Ball Bearings

1000D (U)

175 g

5.2 : 1

150 m / 0.20 mm

64 cm

5.0 kg

5

2500 (U)

200 g

5.3 : 1

150 m / 0.20 mm

75 cm

10.0 kg

5

3000-C (U)

205 g

5.3 : 1

150 m / 0.23 mm

80 cm

10.0 kg

5

3000-CXH (U)

205 g

6.2 : 1

150 m / 0.23 mm

93 cm

10.0 kg

5

4000-C (U)

230 g

5.2 : 1

150 m / 0.28 mm

82 cm

12.0 kg

5

5000-C (U)

240 g

5.2 : 1

150 m / 0.37 mm

87 cm

12.0 kg

5

D = Deep Spool
C = Compact Body = large spool, small body
XH = high-speed gear ratio

Key Facts:

Fixed spool reels - various models available

5 ball bearings

LT (Light &
