The high hook gap increases the distance between hook point and eye, so the hook finds purchase in the predator's mouth more reliably - a zander won't shake a \u003cem\u003eMonkey Hook\u003c\/em\u003e loose easily. On every head size, the eye sits close to the jig head, which means the rig picks up less weed and debris on the retrieve.
