shimano-baitrunner-ci4-xt-b-lc
Baitrunner Ci4+ XT-B LC

Shimano's Flagship Baitrunner

The Shimano Baitrunner Ci4+ XT-B LC is a front-drag baitrunner and the top model in Shimano's baitrunner range. Its most striking feature is the very large, extra-long AR-C long-cast spool, which is comparable in size to the spools found on big pit reels - and that is precisely what makes this reel capable of exceptional casting distances. If you need maximum range when deadbaiting for pike and zander, this is the reel for the job. That said, it is equally at home on medium-sized waters, and it is just as capable a choice when carp fishing is on the agenda.

The Top Model with Outstanding Casting Performance

At the rear you'll find the easy-to-use baitrunner system that has made these reels so popular over the years. On this model, though, Shimano has packed in every technical highlight the range has to offer - if you want the absolute best in a baitrunner, there is no alternative. The weight-saving, ultralight Ci4+ construction not only makes long sessions more comfortable, it also contributes directly to casting performance. Despite housing a huge spool, the reduced overall weight increases rod speed during the cast, which translates to greater casting distance. Alongside the extra-long, large AR-C long-cast spool, the outstanding line lay plays an equally important role - Slow Speed Oscillation and Aero Wrap work together to produce a flawless spool profile every time.

Power and Precision in Equal Measure

Inside, the robust HAGANE Gear combined with X-SHIP delivers smooth, highly powerful rotation with exceptional cranking authority - even the strongest pike can be played out without strain. To ensure this performance lasts, the reel is protected by X-Protect, Shimano's proven system for keeping water out. Power alone is not the whole story, though - handling the hard, sustained runs of big fish also calls for a responsive drag. That is where the Instant Drag comes in. It releases line reliably when needed and can be adjusted quickly and precisely while playing a fish. Half a turn is all it takes to go from the current drag setting to free spool and back again - particularly valuable in the critical closing stages of the fight, when the fish is close to the landing net and the risk of a crack-off or hook pull is at its highest. The Shimano Baitrunner Ci4+ XT-B LC is a high-end baitrunner packed with technology, and it looks the part too, with its stealth graphics and a sleek, refined profile.

Technologies at a Glance:

HAGANE GEAR - for lasting smoothness, lightness, and performance

X-SHIP - for particularly efficient power transfer from handle to rotor

X-Protect - for outstanding water resistance

AR-C Spool - V-shaped spool lip design for longer, more accurate casts

Ci4+ - exceptionally light yet hard material used for the body and rotor

Hi-Speed Drag / Instant Drag - for particularly fast adjustment of drag pressure

S A-RB Ball Bearings - A-RB ball bearings sealed against sand, salt, and dirt

One Piece Bail - especially robust, one-piece bail arm

Slow-Speed Oscillation - for an especially even line lay

Aero-Wrap - for optimum oscillation speed to suit the AR-C spool

Key Facts:

Baitrunner / free spool reel

Medium size

Top model in the baitrunner range

Front drag

Easy-to-use baitrunner system

Large, extra-long AR-C long-cast spool

Outstanding line lay

Weight-saving Ci4+ construction

Outstanding casting performance

Stealth graphics

Sleek, refined profile

Smooth, powerful rotation with high cranking authority

Protection against water ingress

Fast, easy drag adjustment while playing a fish

Includes spare spool

Includes set of line reducers
