The Balzer Space Runner BT-i is no ordinary fixed spool reel. You can use it exactly like one - but what sets it apart is the integrated electronic bite alarm. This reel doesn't just pay out line; it also sounds the alarm. No fiddly bell clips, no setting up a rod pod with separate bite alarms and bobbins - just cast out, lay the rod down pointing in the direction of your cast, switch on the free spool and the bite alarm, and you're fishing. The Space Runner BT-i keeps things refreshingly straightforward.

Rechargeable Battery Included

The bite alarm in the Balzer Space Runner BT-i runs on a rechargeable battery - no disposable cells needed. The battery sits inside the clip-on cube unit, and because the unit detaches, you can charge it at home via the included USB-C cable without having to bring all your tackle along. The cube unit alone is all you need. Once charged, the battery lasts through several sessions, which makes it especially handy for multi-night trips.

Control via App and Directly on the Unit

To fine-tune the bite alarm settings, all you need is a smartphone or tablet with Bluetooth and the newly developed Balzer Connect App. It connects via Bluetooth and pairs automatically with the device as soon as you switch it on. Through the app you can control up to 8 Balzer Bluetooth devices, and it is available for both Android and iOS. Adjustable settings include volume, alarm tones - including some entertaining contributions from Matze Koch - vibration alert, torch activation on a bite, and more. You can also adjust the volume directly on the unit itself, which means you can, for example, run the reel's bite alarm on silent and receive alerts only through your smartphone - useful when you want to keep a low profile on the bank. There's also a very practical anti-theft function: as soon as the reel moves out of range, the alarm sounds. The range is up to 40 m, depending on conditions and terrain.
