Frequently asked questions

Why are goby lures so effective?

Round gobies have become the primary food source for perch and zander in many rivers and canals. Predators know this shape well and take it without hesitation.

How should you fish goby imitations?

Fish goby lures extremely close to the bottom. Short, aggressive hops along the riverbed or a slow dragging retrieve both simulate the natural escape behaviour of a real goby.

Which rigs work best for goby soft lures?

A classic jig head, Ned rig, Texas rig, Carolina rig and drop shot rigs fished directly above the bottom all produce well.

Which target species respond to goby lures?

Primarily zander and large river perch, but burbot, eel and pike also take gobies eagerly.
