The High-End Solution

When Big L launched the Solution Contact in 2017, it quickly became one of the most popular lure fishing rods in its class. The Solution Statement by Big L takes that foundation further, adding a range of high-end rods to the Solution series that genuinely live up to the name.

Premium Materials and Quality Components

Every component on the Solution Statement by Big L was chosen with a focus on outstanding quality and efficiency. The rod comes fitted with a high-quality two-piece EVA grip, an integrated Fuji® reel seat and a Fuji® baitholder at the lower section of the blank. The blank itself is built from NANOALLOY® T800 Toray carbon - a material originally developed for the aerospace industry to withstand extreme stress at minimal weight. Compared to the Solution Contact, this makes the Solution Statement lighter, more sensitive and faster in action, while the high tensile strength of the carbon keeps the blank extremely durable and more than capable of handling a big fish in the fight. For the guides, Big L went with Fuji® Titanium Frame Torzite rings with ceramic inserts - the very top of what Fuji® offers. The inserts are harder and smoother than conventional SiC rings, delivering excellent, clean line flow with 40% less friction. This makes them particularly well suited to braid.

The finish on the Solution Statement by Big L deserves special mention. Big L has invested considerable attention to detail across the series. The rod features a 'Solution Statement' 3D chrome application lettering on an elegant, futuristic black blank, finished with a clear coat and enhanced with chrome elements.

The Solution Statement by Big L covers a wide range of applications, with each model tailored to specific areas of modern lure fishing. Here is a brief overview of each:

2.20 m / 5 - 17 g
This light all-round rod shines with light jigs from 2 to 10 g, small chatterbaits, jig spinners and light twitchbaits. Even with jig heads as light as 2 or 3 g paired with small soft plastics, it delivers excellent lure feel. Despite its short handle section, it remains well balanced. Big L's preferred use for this rod is scratching creature baits along the bottom for perch and fishing 8-11 cm twitchbaits for perch fishing.

2.25 m / 7 - 28 g
This medium all-round rod handles medium jigs from 5 to 15 g, medium chatterbaits, crankbaits and small spinnerbaits with confidence. Despite remaining relatively light, its strong backbone lets you drive the hook home reliably and apply consistent pressure on bigger fish. Big L uses it primarily for targeting perch and zander with various hard lures and for heavy Carolina rigs.

2.30 m / 25 - 80 g
This is the all-purpose pike rod. It casts and fishes jerkbaits, plugs and soft lures in the 15-25 cm range with ease, and is equally well suited to pelagic sharpshooting. This is Big L's most-used pike rod, whether fishing from the bank or from a boat. He used it to catch his personal best pike of 132 cm in 2022 during 'Big Mama Jagd 8' on YouTube.

2.40 m / 10 - 40 g
A short, classic zander rod that excels at both plugging and jigging. It handles jigs from 7 to 21 g and hard lures from 8-14 cm with precision. Despite the short handle, it is well balanced and not tip-heavy. Big L also uses it for pike fishing with medium spinnerbaits and other lures that push a lot of resistance through the water.

2.55 m / 7 - 28 g
This is the longer version of the 2.25 m rod, sharing the same casting weight range. The extra length turns it into a casting machine. One notable detail is the especially long blank section above the grip. Compared to the 2.70 m model, the blank section is the same length - only the grip is noticeably shorter. Thanks to its length, it lets you set the hook with great confidence even when dealing with line bow caused by wind or current. Big L's favourite use for it is light zander fishing with a soft lure from rocky bank structures.

2.60 m / 30 - 110 g
A classic pike rod built for heavy lures and reliable hook sets at distance. The combination of a strong backbone and the ideal grip length for maximum leverage generates enormous casting distances even with heavy lures. Despite this, it has remained surprisingly light and stays comfortable to fish over extended sessions. For Big L, this is the first choice whenever he targets pike with large lures.

2.65 m / 20 - 70 g
This rod is built for heavy jigging and pike fishing alike. It handles jigs from 10 to 30 g for jigging and lures from 12-20 cm for pike fishing. Despite its considerable power, it sits very comfortably in the hand. For Big L, this is the go-to rod for zander fishing with the 18 cm Fat Lui and for pike fishing with plugs and large spinnerbaits.

2.70 m / 10 - 45 g
The classic zander rod in the range, though it doubles just as well as a light pike rod. It fishes jigs from 7 to 24 g for jigging and lures from 8-15 cm for pike fishing. The combination of length and fast action delivers the casting distance to match, making it a great jigging rod from rocky bank structures on the river. At the same time, it has the backbone for confident hook sets. Big L uses it primarily for zander fishing and for pike in shallow water with the 14 cm Fat Lui on a light jig head.
