Savage Gear Alpha SG4 Big Bait 2nd Gen (Spinning)

Built for Big Baits and Big Pike

The Savage Gear Alpha SG4 Big Bait 2nd Gen (Spinning) are high-power spinning rods in the second generation, designed specifically for fishing with large to very large lures. If you want to target trophy pike on big baits and prefer a rod for a fixed spool reel, these are built exactly for that purpose.

Progressive Blanks for Controlled Lure Presentation and a Solid Strike

The Savage Gear Alpha SG4 Big Bait 2nd Gen (Spinning) are built on Japanese Torayca 30T carbon blanks. These blanks deliver a progressive action combined with a very powerful backbone, making them ideal for casting and working large lures. You can set a reliable strike even at range and against big fish - an important quality when targeting large pike. Big pike grip large lures hard between their teeth, and you often need to move the lure in the fish's mouth before the hooks can find their hold.

Top-Quality Components for Uncompromising Performance

A strong blank is only part of the equation - the fittings have to match. The Alpha SG4 Big Bait 2nd Gen (Spinning) is equipped throughout with components from SeaGuide. The SeaGuide CCS stainless steel guides with SiN inserts bring several advantages at once. They are extremely corrosion-resistant and feature a Tangle Free Design that stops your line from wrapping around the guides during the cast. The exceptionally hard SiN insert is well suited to braid and dissipates heat from friction quickly and reliably during hard fights. Overall, these are very light yet extremely durable guides that protect your line and hold up under demanding conditions. Equally well considered is the SeaGuide Alien Lock Down reel seat. Its ergonomic shape sits comfortably in the hand and gives your fixed spool reel a very secure fit. Together, these components make the Alpha SG4 Big Bait 2nd Gen (Spinning) outstanding big bait rods for pike fishing.
