Savage Gear Perch Academy (Spinning)

For All Perch Fans on a Budget

The Savage Gear Perch Academy (Spinning) is a range of spinning rods built specifically for perch fishing. Whether you're just starting out or simply want a capable rod without breaking the bank, this series has you covered. Each model is tailored to a specific application, so you always have the right tool in hand - but the goal is always the same: a fine perch in the landing net.

Savage Gear has built these rods around a lightweight, sensitive blank made from high-modulus 24T carbon, delivering a fast action with enough backbone to handle a spirited perch and enough tip sensitivity to stay in touch with your lure. The reel seat is directly connected to the blank, giving you clear feedback and keeping your fixed spool reel firmly in place during the fight. Seaguide rings and an EVA split grip complete the package. Every rod in the range comes supplied in a Competition Ready rod sleeve.

Here's a quick rundown of each model:

• Light Jig / 2.15 m / 3-15 g: A sensitive tip makes this the go-to rod for small soft plastics on a jig head, lipless cranks, vibration baits and other perch lures.
• Jig and T and C / 2.18 m / 7-22 g: As the name suggests, this model handles small soft lures on a jig head very well, but it also excels with Texas and Carolina rigs. The sensitive tip and excellent transmission make it a versatile choice.
• Twitch Bait / 2.25 m / 7-25 g: Designed for small to medium-sized twitchbaits, this rod's fast tip action gives you precise lure presentation.
• Drop Shot / 2.30 m / 5-18 g: The right choice for drop shotting and Kickback rigs. The tip action is perfectly tuned for the delicate, controlled presentation these techniques demand.
