Savage Gear Salmonoid SG8

Your Ideal Rod for Coast and River

The Savage Gear Salmonoid SG8 is a high-spec spinning rod from the SG8 series by the Danish tackle brand. Built specifically for coastal and river fishing, it has everything you need to handle sea trout and other salmonids. Its moderately fast action puts light to medium-weight lures at maximum casting distance, while still providing enough backbone to subdue hard-fighting predators.

Advanced Carbon Technology in Every Blank

Like every rod in the SG8 series, the Savage Gear Salmonoid SG8 is built around the most advanced carbon technology available. The combination of premium Japanese 46T Toray Carbon blanks and 4X Wrap V2 Technology produces ultralight and extremely responsive blanks. The Reset Accellarator Technology adds a fast recovery speed to the blank - enough power to drive a strike home, yet flexible enough to cushion the wild runs and jumps of hard-fighting fish.

Design and Finish

The Savage Gear Salmonoid SG8 keeps things understated yet refined. A black base with silver accents strikes the right balance between low-key and eye-catching. The premium cork handle provides a visual contrast alongside a comfortable grip in the hand. A Fuji reel seat sits neatly within it, giving your fixed spool reel a secure, reliable hold. Completing the build is a set of Fuji K SiC guides, known for their long service life and contribution to maximum casting distance. The rod is supplied in a high-quality neoprene competition rod bag.
