Westin Spotty Rig Fins
The Westin Spotty Rig Fins are a deadbait accessory designed for targeting large predators. These small, eye-catching fins are inserted directly into your deadbait, keeping it secure on the rig while adding a visual trigger that can draw takes from even the most lethargic fish.
Why Use the Spotty Rig Fins?
Deadbait fishing is a highly effective approach for pike and zander. The Spotty Rig Fins improve this technique in two ways:
- Secure Hold: The fins lock your deadbait firmly in place, even during long, powerful casts. This reduces presentation failures and ensures your bait always enters the water correctly.
- Visual Trigger: The bold UV-orange colour and distinctive spots act as an 'attractor', mimicking the distress signals of an injured or stressed fish. This makes your deadbait stand out as an easy target - particularly useful in coloured water or low-light conditions.
How to Fish It
The Spotty Rig Fins are quick and easy to attach, making them a straightforward addition to a range of deadbait rigs.
| Technique | Target Species | Application Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Float Fishing |
Pike Zander |
Attach the fins close to the head or lateral line of your deadbait to alter its silhouette. Give the line a gentle twitch at regular intervals - the fins will flutter underwater, imitating a baitfish in distress. |
| Ledgering |
Pike Zander |
Use the fins to keep your deadbait visible on the bottom. Position them so that the UV colour sits prominently above the lakebed, drawing the attention of nearby fish. |
The Westin Spotty Rig Fins come in a set of 16 - a small but effective detail that can make a real difference to your deadbait fishing results.
