Westin W4 Spin 2nd

Westin W4 Spin 2nd - Second Generation of a Popular Sea Trout Rod Series

The Westin W4 Spin 2nd is the second generation of the well-regarded W4 Spin series. The focus of this revision was to make the blanks even more responsive and sensitive while increasing casting distance further - and both goals have been achieved. The key to this is the use of premium Torayca carbon fibres in the blank construction, delivering exceptional casting range alongside high sensitivity for precise lure control and confident bite detection. During the fight, the progressive medium-fast action cushions head-shaking and the sudden runs that sea trout are known for, significantly reducing hook pulls - a problem familiar to many sea trout anglers. While these rods are primarily designed for sea trout, they perform equally well on other saltwater predators such as cod, sea bass and pollack. In freshwater, they are an excellent choice for sea trout, other large salmonids and asp, working particularly well with spoons, spinners and shallow-running plugs of the kind commonly used along the coast.

Classic Handle Design and Quality Components

The Westin W4 Spin 2nd impresses beyond just its blank. The tangle-free Seaguide XOG ring system complements the blank's performance fully. The handle is a one-piece premium cork grip with a mid-taper profile - a classic design that is especially popular among sea trout anglers. Particularly noteworthy is the rubber-coated Fuji TVS reel seat: the coating gives you a more secure grip in any conditions, and the rubberised surface is noticeably more comfortable in cold weather - which is exactly when sea trout fishing tends to be at its best.
