Zeck Goes Black

Zeck's All Black Spinning series does exactly what the name suggests: the entire range is finished in black throughout. The lower section of the blank, up to just above the orange and white lettering, and the ring whippings are gloss black, while the rest of the blank is left in a matt black finish that gives the rods a distinctly clean, purposeful look.

Components

Every rod in the All Black series is built on a two-piece carbon blank and fitted with robust SIC guides. On the two 80 g casting weight models, the first two guides are double-leg rings with the remaining guides being single-leg - this adds stability in the lower section of the rod where the forces during the fight with large fish are greatest. The other three rods in the series use a full single-leg guide setup throughout. All models are fitted with the Fuji TVS/#16 reel seat, an ergonomically designed seat with cut-outs that give you direct contact with the blank, making bites and other feedback noticeably clearer. As is standard with Zeck, each rod also comes with a removable hook keeper - the Fuji EHKM-B - secured to the blank with a rubber ring. If you prefer a rod without a hook keeper, it detaches easily.

Which Rod for Which Job

With 5 models covering different lengths and casting weights, the All Black series spans a wide range of applications:

All Black 213/20

The lightest rod in the series is an all-round spinning rod with tip action for lighter lures up to 20 g. It works particularly well for light jigging for perch and for lure fishing with plugs and spoons on streams for trout and chub. It also handles small twitchbaits, crankbaits and surface lures with ease. Its length also makes it a fine option for fishing from a float tube or kayak.

All Black 240/40

The middle of the series in both length and casting weight, this rod excels at jigging for zander and big perch, particularly on slow-flowing and still waters. It also handles plugs and hard lures well, and comes into its own when working plugs for zander at night along riprap.

All Black 240/80

Medium length, highest casting weight - this one is built for pike. Whether you're fishing from the bank or a boat, wherever distance isn't the priority, you'll appreciate this rod when working bigbaits steadily through the water. It also handles small jerkbaits, large twitchbaits and jigging well.

All Black 270/50

A solid all-rounder when distance matters, handling plugs, surface lures and metal lures with equal confidence. It also performs well when jigging. This is the rod to reach for if you want a single model capable of covering as many species and techniques as possible.

All Black 270/80

The longest rod with the highest casting weight, built around two primary uses: bank fishing for pike and heavy jigging for zander on large rivers. The stiff tip lets you work heavy jig heads with precision, and the strong feedback means you won't miss a take.
