A Shad with Innovative Ribs
The Baby Rippler is a soft lure designed and developed by Zeck's chief designer Chris Enders. The goal was to create a large silhouette with low weight, while still delivering excellent action in the water. To achieve this, the shad features an innovative rib design - the ribs are set at an angle and deeply cut, which provides improved aerodynamics and a reduced weight. The lure also has very high flexibility, which benefits the overall action and makes it easy for a predator to fold the bait in its mouth. The ribs also generate additional water turbulence, which further increases the exceptional fish-catching ability of this soft lure.
Two-Speed Action
The Zeck Baby Rippler has a two-speed action, thanks to the upper tail tip on the paddle tail. This tip influences how the lure runs and lets you adapt the bait to different seasons and conditions. In winter, fish it with the upper tail tip in place - it stabilises the run and reduces the intensity of the tail wobble, giving a slow-motion action that predators find hard to resist in cold water. In summer, when more movement is called for, simply remove the tail tip. This lets the paddle tail wag more freely, producing an agile, powerful run with high-frequency flanking movements.
The Middle Size of the Baby Series
At 12 cm, the Zeck Baby Rippler is the mid-size option in the Baby Rippler family. This size is ideally suited to jigging for zander, perch and pike. Mounted on a size 3/0 jig head, it works at its best and draws hard strikes.
