Innovative Soft Lure with the Main Action in the Front Third
The Zeck Quappie is a particularly innovative soft plastic designed by Sebastian Hänel. It is a low action shad that generates minimal pressure waves while delivering high-frequency movement. The silhouette is reminiscent of a burbot, though it is not a deliberate copy. The body is full-bodied towards the front, tapering off noticeably from the midpoint and finishing with a wedge tail. Sickle-shaped pectoral fins on either side drive the main action in the front third of the lure, which draws predator attacks towards the head area - right where the jig hook sits. This means the hook can take hold at the ideal moment. The pronounced taper of the rear half contributes further to solid hook-ups, as it allows predators to fold the lure easily on the take and inhale it.
Flat Rear Section with Further Refined Details
Beyond the wedge tail, the flat rear half of the Zeck Quappie incorporates several more thoughtful details. The front body narrows into a pintail section, which adds stiffness and stability. This prevents the rear part from folding forward and snagging on the hook. The flat, fluttering tail section also features ribs that deliver an extra degree of attractiveness in the action. Thanks to these subtle refinements, the Zeck Quappie is a solid choice on heavily fished waters, where predators tend to be wary - they take it without hesitation.
The Largest Size for the Biggest Fish
The Zeck Quappie 15 cm is the largest size in the Quappie range. It is well suited to both zander and pike. If you're targeting bigger predators, this is the one to reach for. It works at its best on a size 4/0 jig head.

Since I had a similar idea years ago, just no fins, more something else and mainly for pelagic and vertical fishing, I am mega hyped because of the resemblance and because of the editor. 4 stars because he is a bit different than I had hoped for.
