Zeck Rippler 20 cm

A Shad with Innovative Ribbing

The Rippler is a shad designed and developed by Zeck's lead designer Chris Enders. The aim was to create a large silhouette at low weight while still achieving outstanding action in the water. To get there, the Rippler features innovative ribs that are set at an angle and cut deep into the body. This gives the lure improved aerodynamics and a reduced overall weight, while also delivering very high flexibility - allowing a predator to fold the lure in its mouth without resistance. The ribs also generate additional water turbulence, which only adds to the shad's already exceptional fish-catching ability.

Two-Speed Action

The Zeck Rippler has a two-speed action, made possible by the upper tail tip on the paddle tail. This small feature has a big influence on how the lure behaves in the water and lets you adapt it to different seasons and conditions. In winter, fish it with the upper tail tip in place - it stabilises the swimming action and damps down the tail kick for a slow-motion action that cold-water predators find hard to resist. Come summer, simply remove the tip to let the paddle tail wag more freely, producing an agile, high-pressure action that suits more aggressive fish.

The Middle Size

The Zeck Rippler 20 cm is the middle option in the Rippler range. At this size it can still be fished on a size 8/0 jig head with a stinger, though it also lends itself particularly well to use on a shallow rig or a weighted stinger rig. It is at its most effective when retrieved steadily or when targeting pike. Despite its size, the relatively low weight means you can still fish it comfortably on a spinning rod with a fixed spool reel.
