With a running depth of 2 - 3 m, it covers lakes, canals and other waters thoroughly, and Bassday put it through extensive field testing to make sure it reliably reaches those depths under normal conditions. Its wide, rolling action and bulky body push out a great deal of pressure waves, making it virtually impossible for perch or any other predator nearby to ignore. Once noticed, a bite usually follows quickly. You can take advantage of its floating characteristic to work it more slowly through the water column, or drive it straight down to let the lip work along the bottom - a technique known as bottom bouncing that drives perch and zander alike into a feeding frenzy.

Bassday didn't stop at the swimming action when developing the Mogul Crank Target 3 - casting performance and behaviour on entry were just as important. The magnetic weight transfer system contributes to casting distance, backed up by the positioning and rotation of the central eye. This crankbait flies far and accurately, and once it hits the water the Automatic Swimming System (ASS) takes over, positioning it instantly with the lip facing down so it's ready to dive the moment you start your retrieve. On the pull it dives quickly and reliably, always hunting for the next hungry fish. It's worth using a wire trace, because pike are just as fond of the Mogul Crank Target 3 as perch are.
