High-Quality Spinning Rods Developed in Collaboration with Team Anglers
Conceived in close cooperation with experienced team anglers, the Daiwa Pro Staff (Spinning) spinning rods are modern predator rods built for demanding applications. The range consists predominantly of specialised models, each tailored precisely to specific techniques and lure types. All versions share the same high-quality blank architecture: the combination of HVF carbon fibre and Nanoplus resin technology produces extremely light, sensitive blanks with tremendous recovery speed and outstanding balance. The diagonal X45 carbon fibre construction, in which fibres are interwoven at 45 degrees with cross and longitudinal layers, delivers maximum torsional rigidity without sacrificing dynamics. In practice, this translates into casting accuracy, crystal-clear lure feedback, and the power reserves to handle even hard-fighting predators with confidence.
A Strong Selection of Specialists and One All-Rounder
The Daiwa Pro Staff (Spinning) range covers one versatile all-round model alongside purpose-built specialist rods for specific techniques and lure types. Each rod is finely tuned to get the most out of its intended method. The following versions are available:
Allrounder
The Daiwa Pro Staff (Spinning) Allrounder Spin is a 2.50 m spinning rod with a casting weight of 14-42 g. It is the versatile rod of the range and works equally well for bank fishing and boat fishing. It also gives you enormous flexibility in lure choice - you can fish virtually any lure type, including soft lures, spoons, swimbaits, crankbaits and plugs. The rod stands out with excellent casting performance and precise lure control. Its well-balanced blank impresses with remarkable stability and absorbs the runs of even large fish with ease. The handle features a Hard-EVA Split Grip with a Daiwa Air Sensor reel seat. A removable hook keeper is also fitted.
Big Mama's Spin
The Daiwa Pro Staff (Spinning) Big Mama's Spin comprises 2 big bait spinning rods built for catching specimen pike on large soft lures and swimbaits. To let you work big baits for hours without fatigue, these rods are perfectly balanced, light in weight, and deliver outstanding casting performance. Their fast action loads up smoothly and launches even heavy lures with precision over long distances. Beyond their casting qualities, the high-quality carbon blanks offer enormous power reserves and direct feedback. Bites register reliably, the strike lands decisively, and despite their power the rods retain enough flex to absorb the headshakes of big pike and prevent hook pulls. For the grip, a high-quality cork handle provides maximum grip comfort and excellent leverage, paired with a Daiwa Air Sensor reel seat.
Finesse Spin
The Daiwa Pro Staff (Spinning) Finesse Spin is a 1.95 m rod with a casting weight of 4-18 g. This light rod is optimised for soft plastic fishing for perch and other predators. Whether you're fishing a soft lure on a jig head or a craw on a finesse rig, the high sensitivity and solid-tip carbon tip section make lure animation effortless. Even the most subtle bites transmit directly, and the firm backbone ensures a clean strike even when targeting zander. The rod also loads well and achieves surprisingly long casts for its short length. The handle features a Hard EVA Split Grip with an Air Sensor reel seat for excellent feel and a secure hold on the reel. A removable hook keeper completes the setup.
Jigger
The Daiwa Pro Staff (Spinning) Jigger comprises 2 spinning rods built entirely around fishing soft lures on a jig head. Whether you prefer aggressive jigging via the rod or a more slow, reel-driven retrieve, these are the rods for the job. The tuned tip action allows the lure to be inhaled naturally and delivers an instant, fast strike for maximum bite conversion. Beyond their outstanding lure control and excellent transmission of every contact and movement of the lure, the casting performance with very long casting distances impresses too - and when you're playing a fish, the blank reveals just how much power it holds. Enormous reserves let you handle big zander and pike even in heavy current. The 2.75 m version with a casting weight of 14-56 g excels wherever maximum casting distance is the priority - on rivers, large lakes and canals. The 2.50 m version is built slightly more robustly at 18-64 g and is the preferred choice when fishing in strong current, deep water and with larger lures. Both rods feature a Hard EVA Split Grip and an Air Sensor reel seat.
Twitchy
The Daiwa Pro Staff (Spinning) Twitchy is a 2.00 m spinning rod and, with a casting weight of 5-12 g, the lightest rod in the range. It was developed in collaboration with Daiwa team angler and twitchbait specialist Gunnar Schade for perch fishing with twitchbaits. The blank is optimised to let you work any hard lure that is fished with an aggressive twitching action - such as twitchbaits and stickbaits - with complete control and maximum effect. For this purpose it features a sensitive tubular tip and a matched backbone. The rod performs not only in lure presentation but also during the fight, absorbing runs smoothly and reliably preventing hook pulls. The grip design differs from the other rods in the range: a combination of EVA and carbon is used for the split grip, together with a Fuji Skeleton reel seat. A removable hook keeper is also fitted to the blank.
Yak & Belly
The Daiwa Pro Staff (Spinning) Yak & Belly series consists of several rods, of which 3 are available here, giving you the perfect match for perch, zander or pike. These rods are specifically optimised for fishing from a float tube, kayak, SUP and similar small watercraft. For this purpose they feature a shortened handle, allowing you to fish comfortably from a seated position without the butt end catching on clothing. The slim, extremely fast carbon blanks deliver outstanding lure control, precise bite detection and impressive power reserves during the fight. A feature unique to these rods is a special rotating metal ring with eyelet at the base of the handle, which allows you to attach a safety lanyard and protect the rod against loss. The rest of the grip consists of a Hard EVA Split Grip and a Daiwa Air Sensor reel seat. A removable hook keeper is also fitted.
