Daiwa Prorex Lazy Shad

A Large Shad with a Tough, Stiffer Soft Plastic Compound

The Daiwa Prorex Lazy Shad is a shad available in 2 sizes, developed by Daiwa in close collaboration with the Daiwa Scandinavia team. This large shad features a tough, slightly stiffer soft plastic compound that prevents the lure from spinning out on the cast and works directly in its favour on the retrieve. The firmer material transfers the action of the large paddle tail more efficiently into the body, producing a pronounced rolling, flanking action that is particularly effective on pike. You can fish it on a jig head, a shallow rig, or other stinger rigs, making it equally suited to deep and shallow water.

Two Sizes for Big Predators

Both sizes of the Daiwa Prorex Lazy Shad present a substantial mouthful, aimed primarily at large predators. The larger model measures 20 cm and weighs 85 g - that is a serious lure that works best on big bait setups. You need strong tackle not only for casting and working the lure, but also to drive the hook home. A pike's mouth is lined with a great many teeth, and once they sink into the rubber of a shad, you need to move it before you can set the hook with any certainty. The smaller variant measures 16 cm and weighs 54 g, which is still a big mouthful - but here the lure is no longer a pure pike option. It becomes an extremely interesting choice for large zander, letting you fish quite selectively for the bigger specimens. Other large predators such as wels catfish will happily take both sizes, adding an adrenaline-charged dimension to your big predator fishing.
