Illex Magic Slim Shad 5 (10.5 cm)

Illex is known for high-quality hard lures, but the brand also produces excellent soft plastics - and the Magic Slim Shad is a fine example of that.

A Slim Shad Built for Zander

At 10.5 cm, the Illex Magic Slim Shad 5 hits the ideal length for zander fishing. This slim shad not only matches the profile that zander naturally home in on, it also moves with real purpose in the water. A fluid tail action combined with a rolling motion makes it hard for predators to ignore. Whether you're casting or vertical jigging for zander, the Magic Slim Shad delivers. Perch, too, respond well to this lure - and at 10.5 cm, it's particularly effective at picking out the bigger fish. The Nitro Booster squid attractant, with which the shad is impregnated, adds an extra trigger and gets even cautious fish to commit. Just how well the Magic Slim Shad 5 performs was demonstrated by Marc Ptacovsky and Thomas Engert at the WPC 2021, where the lure put zander in the net quickly and reliably, helping them to take the win.
