The Jackall Tsukumo 66 was originally developed in Japan for targeting largemouth bass in shallow areas such as river mouths and along the bank. That same approach translates directly to predator fishing here, making it a productive hard lure for perch, pike and asp. It has also proven itself as a particularly interesting option for fishing above weed beds. Thanks to its innovative design, this lipless crankbait runs at a maximum depth of around 1 m - considerably shallower than almost all other vibration baits and lipless crankbaits.

A Diving Lip That Actually Lifts

What sets the Jackall Tsukumo 66 apart is the lip mounted directly in front of the treble hook at the tail end of the body. It is fitted the wrong way round in two respects - pointing upwards and forwards. Counterintuitive as that sounds, it makes perfect sense in the water. The diving lip effectively becomes a rising lip. On the retrieve, the Tsukumo 66 climbs upwards, running shallower the faster you work it. On the drop, the reversed lip slows the fall and extends the sink phase. In shallow water in particular, that is a real advantage.
