Lurefans X68 / 6.4 g

A Small Twitchbait with Excellent Cranking Properties

The Lurefans X68 is a compact hard lure that covers a remarkable range of techniques thanks to its versatile action. Its profile immediately marks it out as a twitchbait, yet it has been engineered with enough depth to be fished as a jerkbait or even a crankbait - each retrieve style producing a distinctly different action:

Twitching
When twitched with a loose, relaxed wrist snap into slack line, the X68 produces a wildly erratic, darting action, shooting through the water in a sharp zig-zag.

Jerking
Work it harder into the slack line and the lure responds with 180-degree turns, allowing you to fish it almost on the spot rather than simply driving it back and forth.

Cranking
A straight, steady retrieve on the reel is where many slim hard lures fall flat - the action simply isn't there. The X68 is the exception: it produces a rolling, wobbling action that lets you fish it as a searchbait on a straight crank retrieve.

The Lurefans X68 has been optimised for European predators and is an outstanding option for perch, trout, zander, asp, and chub across a wide variety of situations. It also performs well in salt water - for example in rockfishing applications.

Long-Cast System and High-Quality Treble Hooks

The Lurefans X68 features the Magnetic Boost System, a cast-assist mechanism based on magnets. A magnetic cylinder sits inside a channel running through the body of the lure. At rest, it is held in place by a magnet at the head end. On the cast, the cylinder breaks free and slides rapidly rearward, striking the Boost Plate with force. The resulting centrifugal forces deliver increased casting distance and an exceptionally stable flight path. The X68 is a silent lure - during the retrieve, the weight is locked in the head section by the magnet. The only sound comes from a small glass bead at the head end that acts as a counterweight, producing an occasional very subtle, quiet click. To ensure the action is perfectly tuned, the Lurefans X68 is designed to suspend when used with a snap. Depending on the season and water temperature, you may need to adjust the snap size to prevent the lure from rising or sinking - this is normal behaviour for suspending hard lures and varies between models and manufacturers. That suspending behaviour during pauses is what makes this type of lure so consistently effective, and to make sure every bite is converted, the X68 comes fitted with sharp, robust, high-quality BKK treble hooks that hook up cleanly and hold firm through the whole fight. The Lurefans X68 is a versatile twitchbait that delivers excellent performance for the money.
