Monkey Lures Hairy Lui 20 cm

Hairy Lui 20 cm - Built for Pelagic Fishing

The Hairy Lui in 20 cm is the bigger sibling of the original, and the team at Monkey Lures have already put it through its paces - most notably catching plenty of big pike and zander when fishing pelagically. The body shape is identical to the smaller version: a slender profile with cutouts and a fringe tail, paired with a large X-eye. Those cutouts mean that despite the 20 cm length, the lure remains highly flexible, so predators can fold it easily on the take. They also generate additional water disturbance as the lure moves through the water, drawing fish in faster. The fringe tail really comes into its own during vertical jigging and pelagic fishing: even when the lure is held stationary above a fish, the fringes keep working seductively in the slightest turbulence, provoking predators with their micro-action. The highly visible X in the eye acts as an extra trigger point, encouraging predators to attack the head of the lure - which, combined with the excellent foldability, produces a very high bite-to-hook ratio. The fact that the Hairy Lui is salted and flavoured adds further to its effectiveness. And it's not limited to vertical jigging and pelagic presentations - it also performs well for zander fished from the bank using a slow, lazy retrieve. For that style of fishing, large jig heads work best, while for vertical jigging and pelagic work, Screw Heads in combination with a stinger are the recommended setup.
