Nays has expanded its range with the SPLT, a split-tail soft lure built on the body of the Nays VNM.
An Extremely Versatile V-Tail
The Nays SPLT shares its body with the Nays VNM but replaces the paddle tail with a split tail - and that single change opens up a remarkable range of fishing styles. You can work it classically on a jig head, but it performs just as well on a drop shot rig, as a soft jerk or on a darting jig head. The smaller sizes come with an offset slot that lets you rig them cleanly on finesse rigs, while the larger sizes shine in vertical jigging and pelagic fishing. You can even use it as a trailer on chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. Few soft lures cover this much ground.
A Closer Look at the SPLT
Look closely and you'll notice the pronounced ribbing along the flanks, which creates water turbulence and draws additional attention from predators. The lure has a very natural silhouette, and the fine split tail reinforces this - it trembles at the slightest movement, producing subtle but detectable vibrations that mimic the fin action of small prey fish. The offset slot mentioned above makes rigging on an offset hook straightforward, turning the SPLT into a strong option for fishing in weedy water. The material is a soft yet durable rubber compound loaded with a shrimp attractant. Nays has kept the formula phthalate-free.
An Enormous Range of Options
The Nays SPLT is available in 10 colours, each offered across five sizes - a total of 50 options. The table below gives you all the key data at a glance:

First throw - fish unpacked, jig head on and go! Bait runs really well with little movement. Just right for fall. And what can I say, Dustin Schöne's channel is obviously not called First Cast TV for nothing. The first pike came right away, even though I'm after walleye ;-)
