Sportex Rival ULR (Spinning)

Ultralight Rods for Ultralight Fishing

The Sportex Rival ULR are the ultralight spinning rods from the Rival series - and the name fits in more ways than one. Not only do these rods have a low casting weight, making them ideally suited to ultralight lure fishing, they are also exceptionally light in the hand, weighing just 65, 70, or 76 g depending on the model. Pair one with a light fixed spool reel and you already have a setup that offers real pleasure on the water - and there is plenty more to these rods besides.

Lightweight Rods with Outstanding Performance

The Sportex Rival ULR bring together speed, elegance, power, and reliability in a single, very light package. The blank is built on an Extra Fast action with a sensitive tip and powerful backbone. That tip telegraphs even the subtlest of bites, while the backbone gives you the authority to drive home a solid strike and maintain complete control throughout the fight. The rods also show outstanding recovery on the cast, delivering long, accurate presentations without effort. Light as they are, the Sportex Rival ULR are built to last - these are rods you will rely on for years.

Elegant Looks with High-Quality Components

The Sportex Rival ULR are as pleasing to look at as they are to fish with. Every element works together in a cohesive design that combines aesthetics with on-the-water performance. The well-shaped, grippy split EVA grip pairs with a premium Fuji VSS reel seat to form the handle section, which transitions seamlessly into the slim, black blank. Just above the grip sits the Seaguide D-Hook hook keeper - a very sturdy fitting with a large eye that sits comfortably out of the way of your fingers thanks to its thoughtful design. The T1100 Carbon blank is fitted with Fuji SiC guides, whose smooth yet highly durable surface makes them an ideal choice for braid. Every component on the Sportex Rival ULR reflects very high quality, matched by precise craftsmanship throughout. Looks and performance go hand in hand.
