A Versatile Sea Bass Rod for Discerning Anglers
The Shimano 25 Exsence Genos is a series of exceptionally high-quality sea bass rods that sit just below the more expensive Exsence Infinity series. What sets the Genos apart is its slightly greater versatility in application, combined with phenomenal performance across every stage of the fishing process - from casting and lure presentation through to bite detection, the strike, and landing the fish. These rods are built for anglers who demand extreme casting distance, lightning-fast recovery speed, and maximum sensitivity when targeting sea bass. Every gentle contact and every movement of the lure comes through clearly, allowing you to fish with great precision and react to bites instantly.
A Blank Packed with Exclusive Shimano Technologies
The outstanding performance of the Shimano 25 Exsence Genos is rooted in its extremely high-quality blank, which is built and refined using a range of Shimano technologies. The blank is based on a Spiral X Core and Hi-Power Carbon construction, further reinforced with Nanopitch technology. The result is a superlight rod that launches lures to enormous distances and delivers exceptional responsiveness. On top of that, these rods have real power - which you need, because sea bass are strong fighters that put serious demands on your tackle.
A Specialist Grip for Greater Sensitivity
The Shimano 25 Exsence Genos features a Carbon Monocoque grip paired with a Ci4+ Perfection reel seat. This combination takes sensitivity to another level, making it virtually impossible to miss a bite. The grip design also sits very comfortably in hand and makes for a thoroughly enjoyable session.
A Rock-Solid Joint Connection
The Shimano 25 Exsence Genos uses Screw Lock Joint technology for its connection. The upper section locks onto the lower with a twisting motion, creating a particularly firm and secure fit. To break it down, simply twist in the opposite direction and the joint releases cleanly and without effort.
Guides That Match the Blank
The guide setup on the Shimano 25 Exsence Genos is every bit as considered as the blank itself. Shimano X-Guides and Fuji Titanium SiC rings are a fitting match for the quality of the blanks. Both mono and braid run smoothly through the very smooth, low-friction rings, which benefits casting performance no end. These rings are also highly durable - saltwater use puts real demands on materials, and these handle it without issue, provided you rinse the rod with fresh water after each salt water session. That goes without saying for any salt water tackle.
