Shimano is respected worldwide for the quality of its reels - and even at the entry-level and mid-range price points, the JDM manufacturer consistently delivers outstanding value.
A Capable Fixed Spool Reel for Beginners and Budget-Conscious Anglers
The Shimano Sienna FG is an excellent fixed spool reel for anglers just starting out as well as those who want reliable performance without breaking the bank. The body is built from XT-7 graphite, making it remarkably tough for its class. Three ball bearings and a roller bearing deliver a smooth retrieve and an anti-reverse rotor. The Varispeed line lay system ensures even, consistent spooling - so running braid is no issue at all. Shimano's patented AR-C spool design minimises friction on the cast, noticeably extending your casting distance. All in all, the Sienna FG is a reliable package: a well-performing drag, a smooth action, and a clean look make it a strong choice for casual anglers and anyone wanting to get into the sport and enjoy it. It comes in all common sizes and pairs well with rods for perch, zander and pike.

Sienna FG 2500
My standard role This is my 2nd Sienna 1000 as it is already easy and super common. The shelf life of my first is over 3 years with 2-3 major fishing trips per year. A clear recommendation even for beginners to try out.

The roll was bought in the “Ul Spar Bundle” with the La Mostique zsm. There are of course better rolls but I think that you can't say anything for around 30 euros. It does what it should and runs properly.
