Japanese rod builder Shimano has earned a strong reputation with the Yasei LTD series, and it's easy to see why: outstanding build quality, top-tier components and a no-compromise approach to design run through every model in the range.
Spinning Rods for Soft Lure Perch Fishing
The Yasei LTD series includes 3 perch rods, two of which are spinning rods. The Shimano Yasei LTD Perch Finesse Softbait rods were developed specifically for soft lure fishing for perch. They perform best with light finesse rigs - Carolina, Texas and Ned rig - as well as soft lures on light jig heads. Small spinnerbaits are another option when you want to ring the changes. These rods come into their own when you have a good idea where the perch are holding and want to work individual spots accurately and thoroughly.
The Best Technologies
Shimano has demonstrated time and again what's possible in rod building with its own proprietary technologies, and the Yasei LTD series draws on all of them. The blank is built around Spiral-X-Core technology. Spiral-X-Core consists of 3 layers: the inner layer is a carbon tape wound tightly and diagonally around the blank; the middle layer is a sheet of vertically oriented carbon fibres; and the outer layer is a second carbon tape wound in the opposite direction to the first. The carbon tapes themselves are constructed using nano-resin technology, which makes the rods stronger and lighter. Spiral-X-Core substantially improves resistance to twisting forces (torsional stiffness), resulting in more accurate casts and better control during the retrieve and when playing a fish. The blank is further refined through Nanopitch technology, in which an extremely fine surface mat is wound around the blank with high precision under consistent, high pressure. This maximises performance and improves sensitivity. The Taftec Alpha tip has an exceptionally low resin content and is extremely supple yet highly durable. Because it is so sensitive, a perch can take the lure with virtually no resistance while you still feel every detail - which has a significant positive effect on bite conversion.

The Best Components from Fuji and Shimano
The components match the blank in quality. The highly regarded Fuji SiC KR-type ring set offers extremely low friction, allowing the line to pass through the rings quickly and almost silently. This increases casting distance and improves performance on the retrieve. The handle is a Carbon Monocoque design with a custom Ci4+ Perfection reel seat. The Carbon Monocoque handle is a hollow carbon construction fused directly to the blank, reducing weight and ensuring direct transmission of every vibration, contact with cover and fish take.
Clean Design and First-Class Quality
The Yasei LTD series is defined by its clean design - predominantly black, with subtle accents in silver and gold thread. The look is understated, and with first-class quality, high-technology construction and the finest materials throughout, these rods are built to give you a great deal of pleasure over many seasons.
