A Carbon Blank Built to the Highest Standards

Every model in the Sportex Carat GTS-2 Spin range is built around a Helicore Blank made from premium T1100 carbon. This top-grade material delivers a 10% performance increase over T1000 carbon. It is processed using the in-house Helicore Technology, in which the uppermost layers are wound in opposing directions to create a reinforcing helical structure. The result is exceptional casting dynamics, a very fast recovery and first-rate dampening behaviour when playing hard-fighting predators. The fast tip action and high sensitivity mean you'll feel even the most tentative take and can respond with a decisive strike.

An Innovative Handle with Maximum Conductivity

For the grip, the engineers at Sportex chose a lightweight and innovative monocoque carbon handle. Machined from a single piece, it combines a clean, understated look with maximum conductivity, so you won't miss a bite. Integrated seamlessly into the handle is a reel seat also made from carbon, which gives your fixed spool reel a secure, solid fit. The guides are lightweight and durable SIC rings by Seaguide, optimising casting distance and line control throughout. Completing the build is a Seaguide D-Hook keeper ring, fitted with a large eye and positioned so it never gets in your way.

Carat GTS-2 Spin CC2712 / 270 cm / 14-53 g

I was looking for a new rod for jigging walleye. Since I had the stock before, the expectations for the new rod were very high. But I can now say that Carat has exceeded my expectations. Super sensitive mega feedback. You really notice everything with the rod. At first I had worried that it was too soft, but the first time I used water, the worry was immediately gone. I am more than happy with the rod and am really looking forward to the coming season. I fish almost exclusively for walleye in the river with constantly changing currents:)

The Sportex Carat gts2 is a great rod for walleye. Unfortunately for me who prefers perch fishing, this rod is a bit too hard or the rear handle is a matter of taste but looks very elegant.
