Sportex Nova RS-3

The Third Generation of the Nova RS-3 Series

The Sportex Nova RS-3 is a dedicated perch rod series, now in its third generation. Built on slim, lightweight blanks made from high-quality, resilient Toray High Performance Carbon, these rods deliver precise feedback, fast action and a firm backbone. That combination lets you present your lure with complete control and feel even the lightest take. The strike connects cleanly, and on the more powerful models the backbone is stiff enough to make them equally capable zander rods. Each model features a rod-specific action dialled in precisely for its intended use. The Nova RS-3 runs a medium action, with the bend working from the tip down to roughly the mid-blank before transitioning into a stiffer lower section - ideal for perch, whose soft mouths rarely tear free on this rod. These are excellent rods with outstanding bite detection that, thanks to their recovery speed, also offer excellent casting performance. They are ideally suited to perch fishing, while the stronger models give zander anglers some very interesting options too.

Quality and Value in One Package

The Sportex Nova RS-3 Series is built around first-class Toray High Performance Carbon blanks and designed specifically for the demands of modern perch fishing. To keep the rod as light as possible and preserve the full sensitivity of the material, only the section directly above the handle receives a lacquer coat - the rest of the blank is left in its natural state. The SiC ring set is exceptionally lightweight and, paired with fine braid, produces impressive casting performance. An ergonomic EVA split grip underlines the light construction and delivers well-balanced handling. The robust VSS reel seat holds your fixed spool reel securely in place. A neatly positioned Seaguide D-Hook keeper lets you clip your lure away quickly without interrupting contact between your finger and the blank. In its third generation, this series continues to offer excellent build quality and an outstanding price-to-performance ratio.
