Lightweight Performance for Demanding Situations
The Shimano Sustain FK is a fixed spool reel available in several sizes and part of Shimano's Magnumlite series. These exclusive reels combine featherlight construction with sensitivity and genuine power, all wrapped in an elegantly slim profile. The matt black body with chrome accents complements a wide range of rods and reflects the character of the Sustain FK as a whole.
Technological Precision and Silky Smoothness
At the heart of the Sustain FK's performance is the Magnumlite (MGL) rotor, moulded from Ci4+ composite material. Its minimal start-up resistance delivers immediate feedback and fast, precise strikes. Beneath the robust aluminium body, the drivetrain combines HAGANE Gear, MicroModule II, X-SHIP, InfinityXross and InfinityDrive to provide maximum power transfer and smooth, consistent running. SilentDrive keeps the whole mechanism near-silent in operation. The pairing of InfinityLoop technology with the AR-C spool design is geared towards long, accurate casts. When the fish is on, the Duracross drag system delivers reliable, controllable stopping power at every stage of the fight. X-Protect technology rounds things off, keeping performance consistent even in demanding saltwater conditions.
Whether You Need Finesse or Outright Power
The Sustain FK covers the full range. The compact sizes - 2500 through to 3000 - are the lightest option for medium-weight setups, where the balance between sensitivity and control matters most. The larger 4000 and 5000 models are the right choice when you need serious power for bigger freshwater species or when you're pushing into more demanding coastal saltwater fishing. Across all sizes, every Shimano Sustain FK brings together precise casting behaviour and strong, dependable performance through the fight.

Sustain FK C3000
Since I was looking for a very good reel for walleye and perch Shimano, I came across the sustain and must say I am very enthusiastic about it this barrel (slow spool stroke) gives the reel that certain something just for the zander jigin, it is perfect for keeping the bait close to the ground as it has a slight drawstring Can she highly recommend five of stars paired at Solution Contact she is super fun clear purchase recommendation

Sustain FK 4000
The Sustain 4000 is a top roll, cutting-edge technology. There isn't much more to say. In my opinion, Shimano is the leader in this regard anyway. High-end from Daiwa or similarly renowned companies omitted. In terms of width, Shimano is the ultimate in terms of wheels for me. I finally swapped the 4000 for a 5000. The crank knob was decisive. More grip and better handling for heavy baits (I fish the reel on a Lesath Intensity) The shop here is highly recommended! TOP. Good selection and (often) good prices. However, my purchase had a small negative aftertaste because the roll was on sale around 40€ cheaper a day later. A little bit of information would have been really nice. Especially since actions cannot be launched without several days of preparation. Also with regard to the availability of the products by the manufacturers... so I subtract one star because half cannot be deducted.

Sustain FK 2500
A great all-round role for me. Use it for fresh and brackish water. Nothing wobbles and the quality is really great. The brake is very easy to adjust and delivers what it promises. The InfinityXross and InfinityDrive systems are surprisingly good. I give 4/5 stars because the transmission could run a bit easier.

Sustain FK C3000
The roll is great, but I had the sustain wound with the most expensive string offered here. Unfortunately, a mistake was apparently made during the reeling and I already saw a lift while unpacking. 70m unwound and zag, a hard knot in the braided line. Without damaging the new string, it was not possible to untie the knot.. so bye twine and have it rewound. I was very dissatisfied. But after I had to take on extra money, the role is going well.
