VMC Mystic Tokyo Rig Light Hook (7342TK)

Give Perch a Fresh Angle - the VMC Tokyo Rig Light

If you've already put Texas, Carolina and drop shot through their paces, the VMC Tokyo Rig Light is worth your attention. It's a genuine departure from the finesse rigs most anglers already know.

The Tokyo Rig blends elements of the drop shot and the Texas rig into something distinctly its own. A thin metal pin connects directly to an offset hook, holding the soft plastic permanently off the bottom - far more visible and active than a standard Texas rig presentation. Bullet weights thread onto the pin and are locked in place by a small bend at the bottom. You can stack multiple bullets on top of each other, which creates a subtle but noticeable clicking sound underwater - enough to trigger bites even from lethargic fish. The gap between the weight and the lure also reduces snagging significantly, and thanks to the metal pin the rig practically stilts its way across rocky ground and structure.

Originally developed for heavy cover fishing, this approach translates just as well to our waters and offers a completely different way to present your lure. Every perch angler should give it a go - any soft plastic works as a trailer, so there's no need to change your existing setup.

After the standard Tokyo Rig proved such a success, VMC developed this lighter version with smaller hooks specifically to suit finesse perch fishing, keeping all the benefits of the original in a more refined package.
