Westin W8 Dropshot 2nd

Drop Shotting for Perch at Its Finest

The Westin W8 Dropshot 2nd is a pair of rods developed specifically for perch fishing with the drop shot rig. These ultra-light rods deliver extreme sensitivity, giving you highly precise lure presentation at all times. Every change in bottom composition and even the lightest contact is transmitted directly to your hand. This exceptional feel comes from a blank built with finest Torayca Carbon combined with premium Fuji components throughout. Fuji SiC guides and a Fuji T2C Carbon reel seat complement the blank's performance, together producing outstanding sensitivity and precision. With the Westin W8 Dropshot 2nd, your drop shotting for perch reaches a new level entirely.

2 Rods for Different Situations

The Westin W8 Dropshot 2nd comes in 2 different lengths, both sharing an identical casting weight range. The shorter rod, at 2.25 m, is well suited for use from a boat and for street fishing. The longer rod, at 2.40 m, comes into its own when casting distance matters - making it the natural choice for the bank angler. Whether you're fishing from a boat, in an urban environment, or from the bank of a large lake, there's a W8 Dropshot 2nd to let you target perch with maximum precision.

Optimised for Common Lure Sizes and Weights

The Westin W8 Dropshot 2nd rods are specialist drop shot tools, yet they are particularly versatile within that discipline. The casting weight of 4-21 g and the Medium action are optimised for the lure sizes and weights commonly used in perch fishing. This lets you breathe life into your presentation with real effectiveness when targeting perch. To keep everything well balanced, Westin recommends pairing these rods with fixed spool reels in sizes 1500 to 2500 - the combination that gets the most from these rods.
