Scandinavian tackle brand Westin has steadily expanded its range over recent years, building a comprehensive offer for predator anglers.

A Realistic Roach Imitation at a Versatile Size

The Westin Ricky The Roach Shadtail is a realistic roach imitation made from soft plastic, fitted with a large yet relatively short paddle tail. The tail gets to work the moment the lure hits the water, making the laterally flattened body flash and roll at varying retrieve speeds. The paddle kicks back and forth with purpose, sending out strong pressure waves in all directions. This action works particularly well on pike and produces good catches across a wide range of conditions. Ricky The Roach can be fished in summer as well as in bitter winter cold, drawing predators in with its realistic appearance. The finish is hand-painted, and the natural colour scheme is convincing enough to fool even wary predators in clear water. At 14 cm in length, this version hits a highly versatile size bracket, and at 42 g it sits well within the range of a standard rod - no big bait setup required to get it in front of the fish. A solid lure that earns its place in any tackle box.

Ricky The Roach Shadtail 14 cm Real Roach

I caught my first pike this year with Ricky the Roach, on days when nothing bites, he is definitely the secret bait. In my water club, there are very few pikes and very high fishing pressure, you never go wrong with the color “Real Roach”. It's like a white fish 1 to 1!
