Dietel's Creature Bait
The Zeck Barsch-Alarm Shaky Sneaker is Dietel's creature bait for perch fishing, available in 3 sizes. It imitates a dragonfly larva, with a slim body tapering into a thin, elongated 'trident' tail. The body has a pear-shaped cross-section and is salted at 20% throughout the lower half, which stabilises both the sink rate and the action in the water. Along the body and tail you'll find antennae, legs and appendages that generate constant micro-vibrations - exactly what triggers perch. The tail section also features a small ball where the prongs of the 'trident' begin - the shaky tail that gives the lure its name. Measured from antenna tip to tail tip, the sizes run slightly smaller than you might expect, since the body itself is a little shorter than the overall length.
Finesse and Beyond
The Zeck Barsch-Alarm Shaky Sneaker is built from a soft yet durable rubber compound and carries a squid flavour. A fine ribbed pattern runs along the body, increasing surface area for better scent release and producing additional micro-vibrations - both highly effective triggers for perch. For a creature bait, it is remarkably versatile: it works well on finesse rigs, fishes reliably on a standard jig head, and performs equally well as a trailer on skirted jigs. For use on an offset hook, the bait features slots on the top and bottom plus an offset seam along the back. That seam tucks the hook point away, making it a solid choice for fishing through weed.
