Zeck Hänel's Zander Wumme

Well-known zander specialist Sebastian Hänel joined the Zeck Fishing team, and the result is the Zeck Zander Wumme range - rods designed from the ground up for zander fishing. The roots of this series go back to 2016, when a rod was first built for Hänel in one of Zeck's rod factories. These updated and expanded versions carry everything that experience forward. All models share a refined, slim grip section finished with high-quality EVA, along with a Fuji VSS #16 reel seat that keeps a fixed spool reel locked firmly in place and sits comfortably in the hand. The Zander Wumme, Zander Vertikal-Wumme and Zander Wobbel-Wumme are fitted with robust K-guides with SiC inserts, while the Premium-Wumme models step things up further with Fuji SiC guide rings throughout.

Zander Wumme

The Zeck Hänels Zander Wumme is a 2.65 m jigging rod with a casting weight of 15-90 g, though it handles 95 g without complaint. It builds on the original Zander Wumme design but comes in around 30 g lighter and is noticeably more sensitive. Bottom contact and bites register far more clearly, and the stiff blank with a firm tip lets you convert takes confidently at distance. It also doubles well as a pike rod.

Vertikal-Wumme

The Zeck Hänels Zander Vertikal-Wumme measures 1.95 m and is built for vertical jigging and pelagic fishing for zander from a boat. Casting weight runs from 15-90 g, with 95 g as the tolerance limit. The rod was deliberately designed for use with a fixed spool reel: the way a lure sinks on a fixed spool reel differs from how it behaves on a baitcaster, and experienced, large fish are more likely to commit to a presentation that doesn't trigger their caution. With plenty of backbone, it hooks and plays even big zander reliably.

Wobbel-Wumme

The Zeck Hänels Zander Wobbel-Wumme is a 2.65 m rod built specifically for fishing plugs for zander. Casting weight is 10-50 g, with a tolerance limit of 55 g. A softer tip gives you a particularly delicate presentation when retrieving plugs slowly, and the relatively forgiving upper section of the blank absorbs close-range bites that might otherwise pull the hook. Behind that, the rod has considerable backbone, giving you full control over big zander even in strong current.

Premium-Wumme 235 / 10-80 g and 265 / 10-80 g

The two Zeck Hänels Zander Premium-Wumme models are the higher-specification version of the Zander Wumme, built with an even more refined blank and premium components throughout. These stiff yet extremely light rods come in two lengths but share the same casting weight range, and both are suitable for bank fishing. The shorter model is particularly well suited to boat fishing for zander as well. Thanks to exceptional sensitivity, both rods deliver outstanding feedback on bottom contact and bites - you feel everything as it happens, allowing you to react instantly and convert as many bites as possible.
