An Innovative Soft Lure with Its Main Action in the Front Third
The Zeck Quappie is a particularly innovative lure design by Sebastian Hänel. This low action shad carries roughly the silhouette of a burbot, though it isn't intended as a direct imitation. The front section of the body is full and rounded, tapering into a flat, compressed profile towards the rear and finishing with a wedge tail. The front third does most of the work: two sickle-shaped pectoral fins generate the bulk of the movement and draw a predator's attack towards the head - right where the jig hook sits, giving it the best possible chance of finding a hold. Because the body flattens so dramatically towards the rear, it folds easily on the take, making it straightforward for the fish to inhale.
A Flat Rear Section with Subtle Detail
The rear half of the Zeck Quappie has more to offer than just the wedge tail. The body tapers into a pintail-style section that adds a degree of stiffness and stability, preventing the rear from folding forward and catching on the hook. The flat, fluttering rear section also features ribs along its length, adding extra attraction to the action. All these subtle details make the Zeck Quappie a strong choice on heavily fished waters, where predators take it without hesitation.
The Smaller Size for Perch and More
At this size, the Zeck Quappie 10 cm is particularly well suited to perch fishing. Zander are equally fond of it, making it a versatile all-round soft lure for both species. It works very well on a size 1/0 jig head, but can also be used with other soft plastic rigs and methods.

The Quappi... I'm not deducting a point for the sumptuous packaging... but maybe Carsten will think of a plastic-free version... because the quappi is not flavored; which I like! Unpacked and inspired, you'll make a strong figure even in the wind... Play the game for the first time in water! Something special was achieved there! Perhaps a small comment; another manufacturer has marked markings on their baits for the exit of the hook depending on the hook size... given the price, that should be feasible...

The shape and color are really well done. This bait is also very durable, which is very important when fishing on walleye, I think. However, drawing the bait onto a jig head is not that easy and is not immediately successful. It is also almost impossible to put on a dropshot hook on the Cheburashka. I would like to see a small improvement, therefore only 3 stars. Otherwise, a super catchy bait not only for walleye, the perches really like it too.
