Zeck Quappie 18 cm

A Unique Low Action Shad for Hungry Predators

The Zeck Quappie, designed by Sebastian Hänel, is a truly distinctive low action shad. Its shape carries a loose resemblance to a burbot without being a direct copy. The front section is bulky and tapers towards the middle, finishing in a wedge tail. Most of the action happens in the front third, where two sickle-shaped pectoral fins generate movement and draw the predator's attention straight to the head. That's exactly where the jig hook sits, positioned for a clean, reliable hook-up. Thanks to the flattened profile, a predator can grab and inhale the lure with ease.

Refined Design in the Rear Section

The back half of the Zeck Quappie brings its own set of well-considered details. The body narrows into a pin tail that keeps the lure stable and prevents it from folding forward and fouling the hook. The flat, compressed body section is ribbed, which adds to the lure's overall attraction. These details make the Zeck Quappie an excellent choice even on hard-fished waters, where predators will still take it confidently.

The Quappie in 18 cm - "a Proper Lump"

The Zeck Quappie in 18 cm is the largest in the Quappie range and, in Sebastian Hänel's own words, "a proper lump". During testing, he was already fooling big zander on it in open water, but you can also fish the Quappie in 18 cm with a classic jigging approach. It pairs best with a jig head in size 6/0 or a Zeck Genickdrilling in size #2.
