Balzer Rainer Korn Valhall Köfi Circle Hook Leader 13/0 / 300 g

A Specialist Deadbait Rig for Halibut, Large Cod and Pollack

If you're fishing with deadbait in deeper water and targeting halibut, large cod and pollack, you need a rig built for the job. The Balzer Rainer Korn Valhall Köfi-Kreishakenvorfach 13/0 / 300 g was developed by sea fishing specialist Rainer Korn specifically for fishing deadbait for large Scandinavian sea predators. It's built to take punishment, with 1.20 mm leader material that stands up to rocks, mussels and the teeth of big fish.

Specialist Circle Hook

The Rainer Korn Valhall Köfi-Kreishakenvorfach 13/0 / 300 g is constructed in 2 sections separated by a swivel. The first section carries a 300 g inline lead, which the swivel isolates from the hook trace. This prevents a predator from biting down on the hard lead and dropping the bait. The hook trace is fitted with an extra spinner blade for additional attraction and finished with a specialist circle hook. For the best hook-up rate, thread the circle hook through the forehead plate of the deadbait - this gives the bait plenty of movement and keeps the hooking angle ideal.

How to Fish It

When using a circle hook, don't strike - striking will simply pull the hook out of the fish's mouth. Instead, wind hard against the fish. This draws the hook slowly up from the throat until it catches in the corner of the mouth and rotates into it. It's an exceptionally reliable and fish-friendly hooking method.
