Top Searchbait for Perch & Co.

The Balzer Shirasu Crank Bait DR is a crankbait from the Shirasu hard lure series, available in 2 sizes. It works brilliantly as a searchbait for perch, but also handles other predators including chub, asp, trout and largemouth bass with equal confidence. It casts well and the retrieve couldn't be simpler - just cast it out and wind it back. Vary your retrieve speed to work out what the fish are responding to on the day. With running depths of 1.0 m and 1.5 m respectively, both sizes are well suited to locating active fish in open water. That said, hopping the crankbait along the bottom is equally effective - it kicks up small puffs of sediment as it bumbles across the substrate, drawing extra attention and triggering takes from predators holding near the deck.
