The Buck Tail Head with Frog Head Design

The Fox Rage Buck Frog is one of two Buck Tail heads from the British brand, and its defining feature is the frog head design. The hard foam body is shaped after a frog's head, complete with a large, wide mouth - almost like a popper. Around this head sits a voluminous skirt of natural hair, and together they form a Buck Tail head that, rigged with a large soft lure trailer, draws pike in for the take.

Near-Surface and Highly Visible

The Fox Rage Buck Frog has high buoyancy and fishes in the surface zone even when rigged with a trailer. There, the combination of frog head design, Buck Tail and trailer generates an enormous sensory response. The wide mouth opening produces massive water displacement, which is amplified further by the Buck Tail and your choice of trailer. The resulting pressure waves are picked up even in coloured water and on the darkest nights, drawing the attention of pike directly to the lure. On top of that, the Buck Tail pulses constantly - a huge trigger in clear conditions that focuses attacks on the head itself. The soft lure trailer rounds out the package, whether you go with a large shad or a curly tail grub, each adding its own distinct action to the overall presentation.

Corkscrew Mount and Extra Eye

The Fox Rage Buck Frog features a corkscrew screw that threads directly into the head of the soft lure, providing a secure fixing that holds firm even during the fight. The treble hook, already attached to the head, is pinned into the soft lure and releases on the take - reducing damage to the trailer and lowering the risk of dropped fish. There is also an additional eye on the underside of the head where you can attach a clip-on weight to take the lure deeper. This lets you use the same combination of triggers in deeper water when that's where the next big pike is holding.
