Fox Rage has built a genuine reputation with the Zander Pro Shad - a proven zander and pike lure that serious predator anglers around the world have trusted for years, and one that has helped establish Fox as a leading name in predator fishing internationally.
12 cm - Versatile Quality Across the Range
A good shad for zander and pike needs three things to work. With the Zander Pro Shad in the 12 cm size - as with the other sizes at 7.5 cm, 10 cm and 14 cm - Fox Rage has managed to bring all three together in one lure:
- maximum vibration from the paddle tail
- a wide range of colours and finishes
- a tough yet flexible plastic compound
Product Details - Zander Pro Shad
This shad is a genuine all-rounder. At 12 cm (approx. 4.75"), it sits in a size range that predators of all sizes will take without hesitation. At 11 g (approx. 0.4 oz), once you add the weight of a jig head, it falls neatly into the casting weight range of most spinning rods used for predator fishing.
The large paddle tail is angled back at 115 degrees, which gives this lure its notably strong pressure waves. Predators - whether zander, pike or perch - pick these up instantly through the lateral line. The tail starts working the moment the lure hits the water, and bites on the drop are common as a result.
The well-considered colour range covers every situation: natural, understated finishes alongside highly visible ones, so the lure works effectively from coastal marks through to mountain waters, across all conditions and water types.
The durable yet flexible plastic compound is a key part of what makes this lure last. It holds up to repeated pike bites, bonds well with glue so it stays firmly on the jig head, and can easily be repaired after even hard strikes.
Rigging the Zander Pro Shad 12
Fox Rage recommend a size 4/0 jig head as the ideal match. The hook exits through the back in the first third of the body, leaving the tail completely free to work through the remaining two thirds.
You can also rig it weedless by threading the hook point through the body, as shown in the diagram. This reduces snagging without affecting the action of the tail.
