The FAT Swing Impact is one of Keitech's best-known soft lures, and the 2.8" version is the smallest in the range.
A Small Swimbait for Finesse Fishing
The Keitech FAT Swing Impact (FSI) in 2.8" is the smallest shad in the FSI lineup and works particularly well for perch, though it regularly produces zander too. The body is tapered and ribbed - the ribs distort the profile visually, giving a more natural appearance, and create additional turbulence underwater that predators detect through their lateral line. You can fish it on small jig heads or rig it on a drop shot, Carolina rig, or Texas rig. Alignment markings on both the top and bottom of the body make it easy to thread onto a jig head or an offset hook correctly. There are also two markings on the underside for nail sinkers, for fishing it on the Chikubi rig.
Two-Tone Injection Moulding
Like nearly all Keitech soft lures, the FAT Swing Impact 2.8" is produced using the 2-Tone Injection process. Two separate rubber compounds are injected into the mould simultaneously, forming distinct upper and lower layers. This allows Keitech to achieve especially striking two-tone colour patterns and also to vary the salt content between layers. The lower compound carries a higher salt content, giving the lure greater stability during the retrieve - a real advantage on weightless rigs in particular. As with all Keitech freshwater soft lures, it carries a very intense squid scent.
Specs:
- Soft lure / shad / swimbait
- Length: 2.8" / 7 cm
- Weight: 3.4 g
- 8 per pack
- Salted
- Squid scent
- 2-Tone Injection process
- Made in Japan
Rigging options:
 |
Texas Rig (Weightless) - A slow, steady retrieve just below the surface is the key with this rig. For the 2.8" we recommend a size #1 offset hook; for the 3.8" a size 2/0, for the 4.8" a size 4/0, and for the 5.8" a size 6/0. |
 |
Chikubi Rig - Nail sinkers are inserted into the body at the marked circles on the belly. This lets the lure swim deeper than on a no-sinker Texas rig without stiffening its action. Match the weight of the nail sinkers to the size of the lure. |
 |
Texas Rig - The classic Texas rig comes into its own in heavily weeded water where you still need some weight to get the lure down. If you need a longer sink time, it can easily be converted into a Carolina rig. |
|
Jig Head Rig - No rig sees more use than a jig head, and it could not be simpler: just thread the Fat Swing Impact onto a jig head and you're ready to fish. You can also opt for tungsten heads instead of traditional lead, which gives you a smaller profile at the hook point for the same weight. |
 |
Jig Trailer - Here you fish the lure behind a skirted jig head (a weedless jig) to present it effectively even in very weedy water. The skirt generates an additional trigger that tends to draw a strong reaction from wary predators. |

FAT Swing Impact 2,8" | 7 cm Natural Craw
If nothing works, it's FSI! With no other bait have I caught as much perch as with the FSI. Jigged or cranked... There's always something going on! The only problem: cracks very quickly and nothing works without glue!
