The Lew's Custom Lite SS Baitcast is the lightest baitcaster in the Lew's range and is designed specifically for light lures and finesse rigs. Even with casting weights from 2 g, it delivers impressive distance and accuracy - approaching BFS territory. It's the answer for any angler who wants the effortless castability of a fixed spool reel combined with the strength and durability of a baitcaster. Originally developed for largemouth bass fishing - fish well known as powerful fighters - it comes with a 9 kg drag, which is more than enough to handle hard-fighting perch and any scrappy bycatch. With that much stopping power, your light line will give before the drag does. To make sure you can fish those fine lines with real confidence, the Carbon Fiber Drag System is exceptionally fine-tunable via the star wheel, smoothly cushioning every run without any sudden jolts.

One-Piece Frame with High Sensitivity

The Lew's Custom Lite SS Baitcast features a very light, one-piece Tanso Tech frame that keeps weight down while delivering outstanding durability. At the same time, it transmits vibrations from the blank to your hand with real clarity - you can clearly feel even small crankbaits working through the water. That level of feedback allows you to fish with great precision and sensitivity, picking up every contact, whether it's a snag or a take.

Precise Centrifugal Brake and the Speed Dial

On the handle side of the Lew's Custom Lite SS Baitcast sits the Speed Dial - a small dial that lets you record which line and what breaking strain is on the spool. It's a small detail with real practical value, so you always know exactly what's loaded. On the opposite side is the adjustment knob for the Quiet Cast Adjustable Centrifugal Brake System. This centrifugal brake uses 6 pins beneath the C45 Carbon side plate, adjusted via the external dial. Precise tuning is straightforward and helps even less experienced casters achieve consistently good casting performance.

Smooth Retrieve with Strong Cranking Power

Inside the Lew's Custom Lite SS Baitcast, the Speed Gears aluminium alloy gear train works together with the P2 Super Pinion. Combined with 11 Stainless Steel Double Shielded ball bearings, the result is a smooth, effortless retrieve with strong cranking power. That cranking power is further backed by the high mechanical advantage of the 95 mm Carbon Handle. The EVA knobs mounted on it give you a secure grip, even with cold hands.

Lightweight Spool for Light Lures and the Speed Knot

To make casting light lures as easy as possible, the Lew's Custom Lite SS Baitcast is fitted with a light, shallow 30 mm Duraluminium spool. The low mass of the spool means it has very little start-up resistance - an essential quality when casting at low weights. The reduced line capacity supports this further, as the weight of the line itself is also a factor. Another useful feature is the Speed Knot: a narrow slot in the spool where you feed the tag end of your line, securing it without any exposed knot and avoiding annoying lumps in the line lay. To be precise, one overhand knot in the tag end is needed to lock it in place - but it sits inside the spool where it causes no interference.
