Monkey Lures Purge Glider 145

The Compact Gliding Swimbait from Monkey Lures

The Monkey Lures Purge Glider 145 is the smaller version of Monkey Lures' proven swimbait - at 14.5 cm and 42 g, it brings the same concept down to a size that works on a wider range of tackle. The bigger sibling has already established itself as an extremely effective lure for large pike, but not every session calls for a big bait. Sometimes a smaller presentation is exactly what it takes to get a bite. This size is still large and visible enough to draw attention, yet compact enough to fish comfortably on a heavier spinning rod.

A Convincing Perch Imitation in Superb Colour Schemes

The Monkey Lures Purge Glider 145 carries over the outstanding finish and excellent action of the original without compromise. The profile and design are reproduced exactly, making this swimbait a convincing perch imitation in both shape and detail. Several colour schemes lean into that perch reference, complete with the characteristic dark vertical bars. The other patterns are equally well executed - it's clear that Big L and his team have put a great deal of care into the artwork.

A Calm, Realistic Action for Cautious Pike

Like its larger counterpart, the Monkey Lures Purge Glider 145 is not a frantic, high-frequency lure. Instead, it wins fish over with a calm, realistic action. The three-piece body generates an appealing movement even on a straight retrieve, where it tracks in smooth S-curves through the water. Add short twitches to the retrieve and it begins to glide, breaking away to the side in that classic glidebait fashion. That is where the glider character within the swimbait comes into its own, offering an additional presentation style that works well on wary, experienced pike.

A Shallow Runner - or Deeper with Added Weight

With a running depth of 0.1 to 1.0 m, the Monkey Lures Purge Glider 145 is a shallow runner that rises slowly on the pause thanks to its Slow Floating behaviour. This makes it well suited to drains, polders and other shallow waters and shallow zones. If you want to fish deeper, an additional belly eye on the underside of the head accepts a clip-on weight, converting the lure from a floater into a sinker and letting you reach greater depths.

Ball-Bearing Swivels for Fewer Lost Fish

On the Monkey Lures Purge Glider 145, the line eye and both treble hooks are mounted on ball-bearing swivels. This significantly reduces the number of fish lost, as the swivel rotation makes it much harder for a pike to lever the hooks free during the fight.
