Rapala Super Shadow Rap Jerk

The Super Shadow Rap as a Jerkbait

The Rapala Super Shadow Rap Jerk is the jerkbait version without a lip of the Rapala classic Super Shadow Rap. Classified as a glidebait, it was designed for an exceptionally versatile presentation and can be fished both on a straight retrieve and with jerks. On a steady wind it tracks in wide S-curves, while a stop-and-go retrieve makes it dart sharply to the side. This dynamic side-to-side action becomes far more pronounced when you twitch or jerk it on the rod - the lure breaks away so aggressively that you can keep it dancing almost on the spot. That makes it easy to work a hotspot hard and hold the Super Shadow Rap Jerk in the strike zone for as long as you like.

A Smart Weighting System for Greater Depth

The Rapala Super Shadow Rap Jerk is 11 cm long and weighs 41 g. It is slow sinking with a variable running depth, and fishes particularly well in shallower areas. If you want to target greater depths, the Screw Diver System is worth a look. This clever weighting system lets you add an extra weight to the belly of the lure so it runs significantly deeper - handy for getting down to large open-water predators holding deep. That versatility makes the Rapala Super Shadow Rap Jerk an excellent jerkbait for both shallow and deep water, and it is primarily a pike lure. That said, don't be surprised if a chunky perch or asp turns up as a bonus - it happens.
