Sportex Rival Bass

The YPC Spirit Lives on in the Rival Bass

The Sportex Rival YPC Bank was originally planned as a limited edition within the Rival rod series. Its success was so overwhelming and demand so strong that Sportex decided to bring it into the standard range - resulting in the Sportex Rival Bass RV2301. Blank and components have remained identical; the only changes are cosmetic, with a slightly different colour scheme and updated branding. The sensitive tip action, lightning-fast recovery and powerful, stiff blank are 100% unchanged and will continue to impress everyone who owns this rod.

A Top All-Round Rod for Perch and Zander

The Sportex Rival Bass RV2301 is based on the Rival YPC Bank, which Sportex developed to be as versatile as possible. At 2.30 m with a casting weight of 4-28 g, combined with its exceptional action, it is an outstanding choice when you want to switch between different techniques and lures. Outstanding for perch fishing, it also performs very well for light zander fishing.

A Light Rod with Outstanding Performance

As you would expect from the rod specialists from Upper Bavaria, the Sportex Rival Bass RV2301 uses only the highest-quality components. The Toray Helicore blank, built from Japanese T1100 Carbon, delivers outstanding performance alongside exceptional sensitivity - even the most tentative nibble registers clearly. At the same time, considerable power has been paired with excellent casting properties in a refined, lightweight rod. Like every rod in the Rival series, this one features an 'Extra Fast Action': the rod bends in the upper third while the rest of the blank provides a stiff backbone. This gives the Sportex Rival Bass RV2301 excellent bite detection combined with the strong backbone needed for large fish and confident hook-sets when zander fishing at distance.

Premium Fittings Complete the Package

The Sportex Rival Bass RV2301 brings together performance and premium fittings in a well-rounded package. These include FUJI SIC rings, which are ideally suited for use with braid, and the long-proven FUJI reel seat. The EVA split grip provides a secure hold even in demanding conditions. The premium specification throughout makes the Sportex Rival Bass RV2301 a compelling choice for competition anglers, leisure anglers, and anyone who wants to fish versatilely for perch and zander.

Please note, as advised by Sportex: due to manufacturing tolerances, the actual rod weight may differ from the stated specification by up to 8%.
