Savage Gear 3D Hybrid Pike

A Mini Pike in a Hybrid Package

The Savage Gear 3D Hybrid Pike is a hybrid swimbait combining a hard plastic body at the front with a twisted soft tail at the rear. It is a super-realistic mini pike imitation based on a 3D scan, with extraordinary detail in the head design and fins - the kind of lifelike finish that fools even the most wary pike.

The Curly Tail and What You Can Do with It

The soft section of the Savage Gear 3D Hybrid Pike features a curly tail grub, which allows for an extremely slow retrieve where the tail flutters enticingly while the body stays steady and composed. That combination is particularly effective for large pike. The tail also gives you control over running depth and diving behaviour. Mount the tail with the tip pointing down and the nose is pushed deeper on the retrieve, keeping the lure stable at depth. Flip it so the tip points upward and the head rises, running the lure just below the surface with a pronounced wake effect - perfect for working tight over weed and drawing pike out of cover.

A Smart Hook System

The Savage Gear 3D Hybrid Pike is available in 2 sizes: 17 cm and 25 cm. Beyond size and weight, the key difference is the hook arrangement. The 17 cm model comes with a single SGY 1X BN treble hook in size 1/0, while the 25 cm model carries two treble hooks in size 2/0 - more lure, more hook points, straightforward logic. What sets both sizes apart is the innovative Release Rig system. This allows the treble hook - on the 25 cm model, the rear one - to break free from the body on the take. Combined with the swivel on which the rig is mounted, this significantly reduces lost fish, as the pike can no longer use the lure as a lever. A further benefit is that the soft tail is kept well away from those sharp teeth, which extends the life of the lure. You can work through pike after pike without swapping it out - which makes the Savage Gear 3D Hybrid Pike a reliable choice for your pike lure box.
