Savage Gear Sandeel Pencil

Savage Gear is a Danish company that has built its reputation on developing tackle specifically for predator fishing, producing a range of practical, well-thought-out products for the dedicated angler.

A Rattling Sandeel That Draws Savage Takes

Savage Gear's 3D lures have become something of a legend among hard lures. Each one is modelled on a real-life creature, and that attention to detail comes through in the highly realistic finish. Beyond the visuals, Savage Gear refines the action of every lure individually, dialling in the key trigger that gets predators to bite.

The Savage Gear Salt Sandeel Pencil follows that same approach. Its retrieve behaviour matches the sandeel profile - understated and composed, working in small side-to-side sweeps as it moves through the water. On the pause, its relatively low density works in your favour: compared to other sea trout lures, it sinks slowly with a fluttering, falling action. It's precisely during this phase that vehement bites often occur. To make sure sea trout pick up on it acoustically as well, Savage Gear has fitted the Pencil with a rattle that puts out an enticing sound signature.

Savage Gear also put serious work into the casting properties of the Sandeel Pencil. The slim profile of this coastal plug delivers impressive distances when paired with a well-balanced rod and matching tackle.
