Sportex Nova RS-3 Dropshot

The Third Generation of the Nova RS-3 Drop Shot Rods

The Sportex Nova RS-3 Dropshot are 2 spinning rods from the third generation of the Nova RS series, purpose-built for drop shotting. The slim, lightweight blank is made from highly resilient Toray High Performance Carbon, optimised specifically for this style of fishing. The exceptionally sensitive tip delivers precise lure presentation and reliable bite detection - thanks to the direct feedback, the lure does exactly what you want, and not even the subtlest contact goes unnoticed. When you strike, the rods reveal a considerable backbone that sets the hook firmly and lets you play even larger zander with confidence. The medium action - where the tip bends down to roughly the middle of the rod before transitioning into the powerful backbone - cushions runs effectively, which also reduces hook pulls on perch and allows the use of very fine braid. The Nova RS-3 Dropshot covers every aspect of sensitive drop shotting and is a reliable choice for perch and zander fishing.

Top Build Quality at a Fair Price

The third generation of the Sportex Nova RS-3 series relies on excellent Toray High Performance Carbon blanks and is precisely tailored to the needs of modern perch anglers. To achieve maximum weight savings and preserve the sensitive transmission of the tip action, the blank is deliberately left uncoated from just above the handle section. The delicate SiC ring setup supports the blank's responsiveness and, combined with fine braid, contributes to impressive casting distance. A comfortable EVA split grip completes the lightweight design and adds to the weight saving, while also providing excellent feel in the hand alongside the VSS reel seat. A discreetly integrated Seaguide D-Hook keeper adds practical functionality - it holds the hook securely and is designed and positioned so it never gets in the way of your fingers. This rod series brings together first-class build quality and modern features at an outstanding price-to-performance ratio.
