Zeck Pike Stalker

Built for Mobile Deadbaiting

The Zeck Pike Stalker is a rod series designed for deadbaiting - not for anglers who set up a fixed base and stay put all session, but for those who want to cover as many spots as possible in a single day. These are rods built for mobile deadbaiting, plain and simple.

A Carbon Blank Tailored to the Task

Mobile deadbaiting often takes you to smaller waters where float rigs are the norm and long-range casting simply isn't needed - close-range work is the order of the day. The same applies to deadbait fishing from a boat, where an overly long rod quickly becomes a hindrance. That's why the Zeck Pike Stalker rods are shorter and rated for lower casting weights than the Pike Trapper range. Even so, the carbon blank carries real power - enough to drive the hook home into a pike's hard mouth - while the action is designed to absorb close-range runs and head shakes. When a metre-fish is hooked just a few metres from the bank and bolts for cover, the rod needs to cushion that surge or you risk a broken line or a pulled hook. The Zeck Pike Stalker handles exactly that.

Timeless Design with Quality Components

The Zeck Pike Stalker features a predominantly matt-black blank with gloss-black whippings and a dark rubber-cork handle - a timeless look that's understated yet refined. The quality carries through to the components. SiC rings mean you can fish with both mono and braid as your main line without worry. A Fuji DPS M #18 reel seat holds the fixed spool reel securely in place, even during the hardest fights. The overall feel in the hand is excellent. A fixed line clip adds real practical value: with the bail arm open, you clip the line to stop the wind stripping your reel - yet when a pike takes the bait and pulls line, it feels no resistance, giving you those crucial extra seconds to make the strike. The Zeck Pike Stalker is a thoroughly accomplished deadbait rod for mobile pike fishing and offers outstanding value for money.

The Different Rods

The Zeck Pike Stalker range comprises 3 variants, each with its own optimal application.

Polder - 2.70 m / 2.50 lb

At 2.70 m, the Polder is the shortest rod in the series and, at 2.50 lb, also the lightest. That's entirely intentional - it's designed specifically for fishing polders and other small drains and channels, where neither extreme length nor high casting weight is required. Here, the right action and good handling matter most, and this rod delivers both.

Boat - 3.00 m / 3.50 lb

The Boat rod sits in the middle at 3.00 m, yet carries the highest casting weight of the three at 3.50 lb. That combination makes perfect sense: from a boat you don't need a long rod, but boat fishing tends to mean targeting big pike on big baits in larger waters. A purposeful pairing that sets you up for productive days on the water.

Float - 3.30 m / 2.75 lb

The Float rod is the longest of the trio at 3.30 m. Its test curve of 2.75 lb sits just above the Polder, which is a natural fit. This rod is built specifically for mobile float deadbaiting on medium to larger waters, where you're moving from spot to spot - lily pads, reed edges, sunken trees, weed beds - until a pike takes and you get to enjoy the rod's action during the fight.
